Amazing Card *Ü*

Hi.. I’m back :)  and this is the card I spoke about in my earlier post!.. isn’t it gorgeous?

Jane contacted me via email and we’ve been chatting a little here and there.. then she showed me a couple of her cards telling me that she has never shown her work to another crafter before and she wanted to know if I could comment or give an opinion on it.

The card above has been hand drawn by Jane.. Yes.. I can hear you gasp.. I did when I seen it, the details are just stunning, from the little monkey’s hands on the twig to the toes of the baby trying to climb over to see his animal friends!!  The colouring is done with water colours and again I think this so finishes the drawing off beautifully!

I really think you have such a talent Jane, thank you for showing me and allowing me to show it on my blog!

Big hugs,

Marlene xx

Friday Sketchers ~10~

At Fridays Sketchers there is a new sketch up and this one is by Heidi :)

Loved playing around with it and I have used another of my new Sarah Kay stamps, cut out this time and 3D’d onto the circle.  The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado and I’ve doodled around the image circle with little flowers to match them up.

The papers are from Cherry Arte, and eventhough the design of the papers is very busy.. it was quite easy to tone them down with cardstock.. still feel like I’ve overdone the layering a bit..lol

Will be back a little later tonight as I wanted to show off a card that was send to me by email to give comments on, and I was so impressed that I would like to show it off on my blog!

Thanks for the sketch Heidi..

Sarah kay

Yay.. my long awaited Sarah stamps arrived this week.. my gosh, it was a good week for receiving stamps..lol

I pre-ordered them from Sweet & Sassy stamps in the USA, before knowing that they would be available here in the UK too.. and just this morning had a notification that Silly Monkey Crafts have now the full range in stock one of the representitives of Stampavie stamps for the UK.. YAY!

Then I wanted to tell you about a new challenge blog that is all about Sarah Kay.. I have been asked to join the DT team, but as I already have so many commitments, I didn’t feel right to join at this time.  It sure looks like a fab blog though and you can find it HERE..  the first challenge is to use Lilac, so I’ll enter this card for this weeks challenge.

The papers I’ve used are from DCWV olde world stack and have distressed them loads, maybe a little too much.. but I really think this style suits the Sarah stamps :) Silly Monkey crafts have a big range of these papers available and there is a sale on at the moment so have a look here for some great savings!

The colouring is done with distress inks again and have added quite a big distressed border with the peeled paint ink to make it look more aged before I added the stitching.

Found the miniature frame in my stash and i’ve added a little background paper inside plus added the initial ‘S’ for Sister.

Thanks for looking and have a fabulous evening,

Marlene x

Time for another challenge at Cute Card Thursday!

The theme this week is to make a children’s card and I’ve used one of my new hanglar stamps that arrived yesterday :) Coloured with distress inks and H2O’s, the shimmer is so much more visable IRL, just couldn’t get it right on the photo.

The papers are from TLC so are the letters in the title, and added a birthday rub-on.

Thanks for looking!

Another Monday.. Another Ismaki Challenge and Another gorgeous sketch by Manue :)

The option is to use Fairies.. or anything Fairy related.. but I chose to go for this cool dude instead.

  • SugarNellie stamp from Funkykits
  • Double sided DP from 29th Street Market that were in the latest scrapagogo kit, as were the buttons and rik-rak
  • BoBunny Rub-ons
  • other bits and bobs from stash

I have paper pieced his top and shoes and on the tag I’ve added a rub-on saying ‘Birthday Boy’

Used my nifty little sewing machine to add the details..

Thanks once again for a great sketch!!

I’ve made this card following a tutorial by Beate called Triangle Trifold, I’ve done it before and it really is easy, fun and quick to do.. with lovely results! Please follow the link and give it a go :)

I have adjusted the size as I wanted a bigger card so instead of using 1 piece of cardstock.. I have used 2 pieces of 11″ x 5.5″ and stuck them together in the middle… everything else done exactly as the tutorial!

Decorated throughout and fasten with a length of ribbon.

This is the card when opening:

and the inside looks like this:

The papers I have used are Heidi Grace designs and they were included in the DT package I got from SugarNellie and ofcourse the Sweet and Sassy stamp is from Funkykits..

Really pleased with this card, might make a simular shaped one again tonight!! lol

I have used the lush BG Sugared papers and the cute Nellie stamp is from Funkykits

Found the little crocheted flower in my green ribbon drawer and just had to use it :) the Rub-on is from BoBunny and the foliage is punched with the fern punch.

Thanks for the fab challenge and the great sketch.

*************************************************************
I mentioned that we went to the cinema on Sunday and went to see kung Fu Panda.. OMG, you got to see that film, the kids really enjoyed it and I thought it was FAB! lots of adult humour in there too.. and could honestly say that I would watch it again (and again!)
*************************************************************
Some of you know that I had my hair cut short (well, short for me that is!) last week and couldn’t get used to it.. infact.. Hated it!
Didn’t even dare to take a pic of it.. and ordered hair extentions straight away!!
But.. I’ve kinda got used to it a little bit and have been brave..
Here is a pic of me.. with shorter hair, wasn’t brave enough to be in there alone so had Jinx (my Ragdoll cat) to keep me company :)

No cards or projects to show just yet.. but will have a go at the spoonfull of sugar challenge tonight and have been busy making a LO for SI scrap challenge, obviously I can’t show it yet, but it should be in the October issue of Scrapbook Inspirations out in the shops in September .. Yay!

Have a great evening all!!

Another wonderful sketch by Beatrix at Ismaki this week and the option is to use the colours Red and Green

Stamp is from the new Nellie range from FunkyKits and the papers are BG Infuse.  Used the cuttlebug embossing folder to ’spice’ up the red CS.  Prima flowers are held together with bling brads from PM and the sentiment is from K&Co paper pad.

Again thanks so much for the sketch!

Hanglar Girl..

Like many of you I cannot wait for the Hanglar and Stanglar stamps to be widely available.. and am so waiting on more news from SugarNellie :)

For this card I have used the sketch from Tiets, “dank je meis, het is echt een super sketch!”  I have turned it around abit.. but it still has the same elements as the original *Ü*

Again used BG papers, this time from the ‘Sugared’ range.. Used nestabilities for the circle and scalloped circle, the zig-zag embossing folder is from cuttlebug.  Done some doodling with white pen and the flowers, spacers and bling dots are from stash!
