Three Challenges..

Think I’m on a roll.. lol

Three posts today!! and this one incorperates 3 challenges..

First of all I have used the sketch from SKETCH SATURDAY.. it’s a great one as usual and I loved using it.

Then over at BASIC GREY BLOG the challenge is Embossing, for that I’ve used the cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and the papers I’ve used throughout are from the ‘Figgy Pud’ 6″ x 6″ paper pad.

Lastly.. in the theme this week over at MAGNOLIA MEET STAMPAVIE they would like you to ‘Get the Feeling’ and use texture on your projects.

I had great fun making the paper beads and know there are probably lots of tutorials on how to make them.. this is what i did:

Cut a strip of matching design paper approx 6″ x 2/3″ and cut both long sides from the middle to the end to make a point:

Then take a large needle or tooth pick and roll the paper along, starting from the widest [uncut] bit.

before you reach the end, add some glue so it sticks to the bead when closed.. pull out the stick/needle and voila.. you got your own hand-made bead that is a perfect match to the papers you are using!

I’ve strung mine on some floss and attached to my card with 3d pads.

Other card ingredients:

  • Sarah Kay stamp, Christma s preparations and she is coloured with Distress inks
  • Fancy Pants border stamp
  • Sage and Chestnut chalk inks for edges, embossing and border stamp
  • Basic Grey ‘Figgy Pudding’ paper pad
  • SU! Real Red CS and Tab punch
  • Kars printed Twill tape
  • CB snowflake embossing folder

Thanks for all the challenges.. really enjoyed myself!

Big hugs,

Marlene x
